Blood Drive - Giving Hope, One Drop at a Time

Childhood Leukemia Society partnered with City of Hope to host a life-saving blood drive at the Monrovia Community Center. Blood donations collected went directly to pediatric and cancer patients at City of Hope, offering critical support to those in treatment. With an inspiring turnout from the community, the event highlighted how a single act of generosity—donating blood—can truly save lives and bring hope to families in need.

Blood Drive - Clifton Middle School

Community Rallies Behind Childhood Leukemia Warrior for a Blood Drive,
Clifton Middle School Monrovia, CA

Monrovia Unified School District along with the Red Cross have committed to hold a large scale blood drive located at “Clifton Middle School” on Saturday, June 2nd 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This blood drive will be held in the name of James Speranta and the Children’s Leukemia and Cancer Unit at the “City Of Hope.”

Moroccan Casino Night Fundraising Event - A Glamorous Evening

On January 25, 2020, the Childhood Leukemia Society hosted an unforgettable Moroccan Casino Night at the Monrovia Tennis Club, raising vital funds to support children battling cancer. Guests enjoyed Mediterranean cuisine, live entertainment by Center Stage, and a lively evening of music, dancing, and casino games.

Monrovia Rallies for James: Blood Drive in Support of Student-Athlete Battling Leukemia

In March 2018, the Monrovia community united to support Monrovia High School student-athlete James Speranta following his unexpected leukemia diagnosis. Over 220 students, teachers, and residents participated in a blood drive, doubling the typical turnout, to provide critical support during James’s intensive treatment. This overwhelming response highlighted the community’s compassion and commitment to standing by one of their own in a time of need
